Cinema Syndicate: Higgsfield Bags $400 Million to Dominate AI Video Generation

Video creation startup Higgsfield secured $400 million in fresh Series B funding on Monday, pushing its company valuation up to $5.4 billion. That valuation quadruples its price tag from just eight months ago, when investors valued the company at $1.3 billion.

Former Snap executive Alex Mashrabov founded Higgsfield in 2023 to give creators and businesses software tools to generate high-quality synthetic images and video clips. The company captured attention across the film industry over the past year by screening synthetic movies at prestigious film festivals in Cannes and New York. Higgsfield offers tailored creation platforms, including Cinema Studio for film directors and Marketing Studio for advertising agencies. Alongside the funding news, Higgsfield reported reaching $700 million in annualized revenue and growing its user base to 30 million people across 200 countries.

Enterprise clients represent one of the fastest growing segments for the startup. Higgsfield revealed that it now works with 390 companies on the Fortune 500 list. Mashrabov stated that large corporations plan to integrate automated video software directly into their daily marketing routines and creative workflows.

The startup plans to spend the fresh capital on hiring new engineers and expanding product features, but the primary cost centers on securing server processing power. Mashrabov explained that processing video requires massive computing infrastructure compared to simple text models. Generating a single minute of video requires the same computing power as processing roughly 60,000 text words. Securing reliable server clusters gives Higgsfield the processing backbone it needs to stay competitive against main market rivals like Synthesia and Runway.

Investment firm DST Global led the Series B funding round. Other major institutional investors joined the deal, including Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Valor Capital, and Tribe Capital.

This massive capital injection highlights how fast demand is growing for synthetic video tools across corporate marketing teams and independent film studios. Producing traditional video content requires expensive cameras, physical lighting setups, actors, studio spaces, and lengthy post-production editing schedules. Automated video generation skips those physical roadblocks, letting marketing teams produce hundreds of customized video ad variations in a fraction of the time.

As computing hardware costs remain high, smaller video startups face huge financial hurdles trying to compete with heavily backed platforms. By locking down a $5.4 billion valuation and securing long-term server access, Higgsfield positions itself as a dominant player in the media landscape, giving brands and filmmakers direct access to high-speed video creation.
