ElevenLabs Hits the Stage: A New Way to Create Music With AI

ElevenLabs is no longer just the king of voice cloning. The company recently quietly dropped a new iOS app called ElevenMusic that lets you create full songs using nothing but your phone and a few words. This move puts them in a head-on fight with other AI music giants like Suno and Udio. After raising $500 million earlier this year at an $11 billion valuation, ElevenLabs is clearly in a hurry to expand beyond simple audio snippets and own the entire creative process.

The new app is very easy to use. You just type in a prompt describing the kind of song you want, and the AI handles the rest. You can even adjust how long the song is, choose a writing style, or decide if the track should have lyrics at all. Right now, the app is free to download and use. You can generate up to seven songs every single day without paying a dime. This makes it a great playground for people who want to experiment with AI audio but aren’t ready to commit to a monthly bill.

If you are a more serious creator, ElevenLabs has a Pro tier for $9.99 a month or about $96 for the whole year. This paid version lets you create up to 500 tracks every month and gives you over 500 GB of storage space for your projects. You also get access to every style and mood the platform offers. The app even feels a bit like Spotify or Apple Music. It has live stations with names like Focus, Energy, Relax, and Chill. There are also top charts and trending sections so you can see what other people are creating and even remix their work using your own prompts.

This launch is part of a much bigger plan. ElevenLabs doesn’t want to be just a model company that other people build on. They want to protect themselves from their technology becoming a cheap commodity. By building their own apps like ElevenMusic and ElevenReader, they can keep their users close and control the entire experience. They even started a program that lets authors earn royalties by converting their books into audio on their platform. It is a full ecosystem for digital sound.

The company has spent the last year bulking up its team and its tech. They recently hired for a consumer marketing role specifically to grow their music presence. They also partnered with top music producers to release an album that was built with the help of AI. They want to show the world that their tools are commercially safe and ready for professional use. Whether you are a YouTuber who needs a custom background track or just someone who wants to make a funny song for a friend, ElevenLabs is making it easier than ever.

The AI music space is getting crowded, but ElevenLabs has a huge advantage with its massive valuation and its established reputation in voice tech. They are moving fast to ensure that when you think of AI sound, you think of them. ElevenMusic is just the start of a new chapter where anyone can be a composer. As the tech gets better, the line between human-made and AI-made music will likely disappear completely.
